Marcia Mary (Wrobel) Granzer

June 25, 1961 – October 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Marcia Mary (Wrobel) Granzer at home on October 15, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Marcia was the daughter of Barbara and Ron Gardiner. Her childhood took her from Boston, Massachusetts, to Winter Park, Florida, and eventually to Ridgeway, Ontario, where she finished grade six. It was in Fort Erie that she put down her roots and lived out the rest of her life. It was also where she met Ronald Granzer at FESS. They became close friends, married in 1989, and had two children, Jilian and Erich.

Nothing mattered more to Marcia than her children. She loved them endlessly, and they were her greatest pride and joy. Jilian and Erich will miss her dearly, and her love, strength and generous heart live on in them both.

To her two grandsons, Hatcher and Bowen, she was “Rama.” She loved them more than anything. She was always the first to show up ready to play, usually with treats in hand, and the joy they gave her was beyond words.

Marcia was happiest in the company of the people she loved. She cherished her many friends, some of them for decades, and she will be missed by every single one of them. A few of those friends were the family she chose: Bob, Richard, Brenda, Katie, Dale, Donna, Nikki, Barry, Janette, Dessa, and countless others she knew and loved. We wish we could name them all. They were the ones she could always count on, and who could always count on her. Their friendship was one of the greatest gifts of her life.

She was a strong, caring and hospitable woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. She always enjoyed good food and a hot meal, and she was a wonderful cook who loved feeding anyone who wanted to pull up a chair. She never turned down a game of bingo or a good garage sale, and the best part was always the company. The Fort Erie Legion also held a special place in her heart, and she gave countless hours to helping with its events and fundraisers.

Marcia spent most of her working life in the hospitality and customs broker industries, bringing the same warmth and care to her work that she brought to everything else.

Marcia is survived by her husband of more than 20 years, Ronald Granzer; her children, Jilian Granzer-Morningstar (Jesse) and Erich Granzer; her grandsons, Hatcher and Bowen; her siblings, Alan and Diane (Mitch); her aunts, Linda (Ron) and Diane; her cousins, Tommy and K.C.; her nephews, Cameron, Brian and Stephen; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Ron Gardiner; her sister, Carolyn; and her cousin, Debbie.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 6th, from 2 to 6 pm at the Fort Erie Legion, 130 Garrison Road, Fort Erie. Everyone is welcome to come together to share stories and honour her life. The Legion held a very special place in Marcia’s heart, so in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Fort Erie Legion.
